Rendering issues in IE 10

Problem:
An example of a problem would be that the Top menu drop down disappears if the mouse is not hovering over the text inside the menu. This will require quickly moving the mouse when changing to another menu item. If you are to slow the menu will collapse back.

Cause:
IE 10 can render pages in unsupported document modes  For example if the website is identified as being inside your intranet IE will automatically load compatibility view. The effect is that Sana will be rendered in for example IE 7 style which is no longer supported by Sana Commerce. You can verify if this is happening by pressing F12 and opening the console tab as shown below. Possibly you will need to reload the page to see the message below.

Applies to:
Sana Commerce 8.2

Solution:
Make sure Sana Commerce is not being rendered in compatibility mode by unchecking the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View checkbox. You can find this checkbox via Tools - Compatibility View Settings

For a more permanent solution you can also add some configuration to the web.config files.

Place this config code inside the <system.webServer> section.
<httpProtocol>
  <customHeaders>
    <clear />
    <add name="X-UA-Compatible" value="IE=edge" />
  </customHeaders>
</httpProtocol>

Please note this fix only works in IIS 7+; For IIS 6 you can also fix it by creating a custom response header as Name ‘X-UA-Compatible’, Value=’IE-Edge’.
